Complex Ovarian Cyst
Complex ovarian cyst is one type of ovarian cyst. It’s a not common but serious condition. If a complex ovarian cyst is not be treated, it could be fatal and might be cancerous. So we should treat it as soon as possible when we have it.
Signs and symptoms of complex ovarian cyst include all signs and symptoms of common ovarian cyst. Like:
- Lower abdominal or pelvic pain, which may start and stop and may be severe, sudden, and sharp Irregular menstrual periods
- Feeling of lower abdominal or pelvic pressure or fullness
- Long-term pelvic pain during menstrual period that may also be felt in the lower back
- Pelvic pain after strenuous exercise or sexual intercourse
- Pain or pressure with urination or bowel movements
- Nausea and vomiting
- Vaginal pain or spots of blood from vagina
- Infertility
Severe pain is most important symptoms in some case. Most of them said that pain from their complex ovarian cyst were unbearable. Pain from complex ovarian cysts:
- Enlarged cystedonomas can cause the ovary to twist which is extremely painful
- Pain may radiate from the pelvis to thighs and buttocks
- There may be pain with sexual intercourse
- Pain may occur before or after menstrual periods
Treatment for complex ovarian cyst vary depending on the type and gravity of your ovarian cyst. There is three types of complex ovarian cyst which exist:
(1) Dermoid Cysts: These cysts are produced from the same cells that make up the human egg and so have an almost-human appearance about them because of the growth of hair, teeth and even other tissues in the cysts. In some cases, such cysts can even contain sweat glands. When women come to know that this type of cyst has grown within them, they often feel nervous and psychologically uneasy. These cysts are not cancerous but can cause a lot of pain, especially if it twists on itself.
(2) Endometrioma: This is a type of cyst which grows outside the uterus and is caused by endometriosis. It can lead to a large number of complications in and around the ovaries and should therefore be treated as soon as it is discovered in the patient.
(3) Cystadenomas: These large cysts consist of liquid and mucus and are usually very painful. They have been known to twist upon themselves at times thereby causing excruciating pain and discomfort.
Apart from these, there are also different conditions that can lead to complex ovarian cysts. You should therefore properly understand your own particular condition and the possible complications related thereto for getting the most appropriate mode of treatment.
